Surat Ibrahim- Lesson3- Ayat (13-21): The War between Al-Haqq and Al-Batil is Everlasting

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful  
 

The battle between the believers and the disbelievers is eternal: 


Dear noble brothers, we reached with our lessons of the interpretation of Surat Ibrahim, peace be upon him and upon our Prophet Muhammad, the following Ayah:   

﴾ And those who disbelieved, said to their Messengers: "Surely, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our religion." So their Lord inspired them: "Truly, We shall destroy the Zalimoon (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers.). ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 13 ]

This indicates that the war between the believers and the disbelievers never ends, and it is an old everlasting one. The disbelievers, who were powerful and were the majority, asked the believers, including the Noble Prophets who called them to worship Allah the Almighty Alone, either to return to their religion or to be driven out of their land. Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ So their Lord inspired them: "Truly, We shall destroy the Zalimoon (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers.). ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 13 ]


Allah is the only Creator in the whole universe, and He the Almighty says: 

﴾ Moosa (Moses) said to his people: "Seek help in Allah and be patient. Verily, the earth is Allah's. He gives it as a heritage to whom He will of His slaves, and the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqoon (pious)." ﴿

[ Al-A'araf, 128 ]


As long as Allah the Almighty supports you, do you think anyone can defeat you? As long as Allah the Almighty forsakes you, do you think anyone can benefit you?  If you want to be the most powerful man, then put your trust in Allah. Allah suffices you and He is the Best Disposer of affairs. Allah the Almighty says in the following Ayaat: 

﴾ Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) in this world's life and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth, (i.e. Day of Resurrection)… ﴿

[ Ghafir, 51 ]

 

﴾ Truly, Allah defends those who believe. Verily! Allah likes not any treacherous ingrate to Allah (those who disobey Allah but obey Shaitan (Satan)). ﴿

[ Al-Hajj, 38 ]


﴾ So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness). ﴿

[ Al-Anbiya', 88 ]


﴾ Say (O Muhammad PBUH): "Allah rescues you from it and from all (other) distresses, and yet you worship others besides Allah." ﴿

[ Al-An'am, 64 ]


The earth is a heritage to Allah's righteous servants:  

 
Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ And those who disbelieved, said to their Messengers: "Surely, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our religion." So their Lord inspired them: "Truly, We shall destroy the Zalimoon (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers.). ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 13 ]


The interpretation of "shall return to our religion" is that the disbelievers wanted the believers to become like them and to believe in their beliefs; otherwise they would drive them out of their land. According to another interpretation, the disbelievers mistakenly thought that the believers were like them but later on, they became monotheists, so they had to return to their religion (return to Kufr).  Allah the Almighty says: 
  

﴾ So their Lord inspired them: "Truly, We shall destroy the Zalimoon (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers.)* "And indeed, We shall make you dwell in the land after them. This is for him who fears standing before Me (on the Day of Resurrection or fears My Punishment) and also fears My Threat." ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 13-14 ]


According to the Laws of Allah the Almighty, it is indicated in the following Ayah that:  

﴾ Verily, the earth is Allah's. He gives it as a heritage to whom He will of His slaves… ﴿

[ Al-A'raf, 128 ]

 
The earth is a heritage to the righteous worshippers of Allah the Almighty: 

﴾ And the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqoon ﴿

[ Al-A'raf, 128 ]


Falsehood will have its turn, but later on it will demolish. So, after Allah destroys the oppressors, He will make the believers dwell in the land. 

﴾ We shall make you dwell in the land after them. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 14 ]


Allah the Almighty says in another Ayah: 

﴾ Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). ﴿

[ An-Noor, 55 ]


This promise of Allah will be fulfilled definitely:  


﴾ And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors* And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Haman and their hosts receive from them that which they feared. ﴿

[ Al-Qasas, 5-6 ]


Obstinacy and arrogance are two typical adjectives of the Kafir:   


Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ But they (the Messengers) sought victory and help (from their Lord (Allah)), and every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allah) was brought to a complete loss and destruction. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 15 ]


The Noble Messengers sought victory from Allah the Almighty, and this is what one of the Prophets, peace be upon them, did in the following Ayah as Allah the Almighty narrates:    

﴾ Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" ﴿

[ Al-Qamar, 10 ]


Seeking Allah's Help means to seek victory from Him. I repeat the Ayah:

﴾ But they (the Messengers) sought victory and help (from their Lord (Allah)), and every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allah) was brought to a complete loss and destruction. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 15 ]


The arrogant dictator is whosoever refuses to believe in Allah and to obey Him, Exalted and Sublime be He. He insists on his wrongdoings, sins and Kufr (disbelief). Actually obstinacy and arrogance are typical characteristics of the Kafir. He is an arrogant and obstinate tyrant who never admits his mistakes.    

﴾ And every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allah) was brought to a complete loss and destruction. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 15 ]


The obstinate arrogant dictator will never be able to see his evil plans in action, but rather, he will see the destructive results of his wrongdoings, and he will be in a great loss.   

The boiling festering water is the drink of the Kafir in the Hereafter: 


Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ And every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allah) was brought to a complete loss and destruction* In front of him (every obstinate, arrogant dictator) is Hell, and he will be made to drink boiling, festering water. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 15-16 ]


The water they will drink looks like pus. As you know in some cases, pus comes from wounds, so just imagine how dirty, disgusting and detestable the water, which the Kafir will be forced to drink on the Day of Resurrection, is!      

﴾ And he will be made to drink boiling, festering water* He will sip it unwillingly, and he will find a great difficulty to swallow it down his throat, and death will come to him from every side, yet he will not die… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 16-17 ]


How difficult such a situation is! All causes of death are there, but the person will not die. In this case, death is definitely is the better option. The Ayah goes on: 

﴾ And death will come to him from every side, yet he will not die and in front of him, will be a great torment. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 17 ]


The great achievements of the Kuffar are worthless in Allah's Sight: 


Listen to the following Noble Ayah, please: 

﴾ The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day, they shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. That is the straying, far away (from the Right Path). ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


The disbelievers are those who disbelieve in Allah although He has provided them with the blessing of existence and the basic needs of life. They disbelieve in their Lord Who created them. Besides, they disbelieve in whoever called them to believe in Allah the Almighty. Furthermore, they turn away from Allah, neglect His Laws, refuse to return to Him, ignore His Words, ignore His Divine Way, and neglect His creations. 

Allah compares between the Kuffars' works and ashes:  


﴾ The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


Those disbelievers have turned away from their Lord, they have ignored His Words, they have avoided returning to Him, they have never feared being forsaken by Him, and they have never sought His Pleasure. They have forgotten about these things. Allah the Almighty says:    

﴾ The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord is that their works are as ashes… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


The silly deeds are the worthless and valueless ones that neither people nor Allah the Almighty gives it any value whatsoever. The works mentioned in the Ayah are the ones the Kuffar claim to be their great achievements.  

﴾ Their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


What will happen to the ashes which are blown by the wind? They will scatter and disappear. This is the parable of the works of the disbelievers which Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, describes in the following Ayaat:    

﴾ And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust. ﴿

[ Furqan, 23 ]


﴾ As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one thinks it to be water, until he comes up to it, he finds it to be nothing, but he finds Allah with him, Who will pay him his due (Hell). And Allah is Swift in taking account. ﴿

[ An-Noor, 39 ]


The great achievements the Kuffar boast about are valueless in Allah's Sight, and they will not please their doers on the Day of Resurrection. They will look for them, but they will find none since they will be scattered like ashes.  
  
If a student has an oral exam, and he is asked a precise question, but he cannot answer it, how embarrassed he will be! Not to mention, passing the exam will not be easy in such a case. He remembers very well that he has eaten tasty food one day before the exam, and he has spent many hours to prepare it, but will these deeds do him any good during the exam? Of course, they will not. Similarly, the deeds of the Kuffar, no matter how great they might be in their sight even if they were as great as the pyramids, are valueless on the Day of Resurrection. 

The pyramids, which were built for the Pharaohs, are valueless. Where are the Pharaohs now? These are huge construction works carried out by some people, like the Great Wall of China, the Nabataean ruins, the Palmyrene ruins and the theaters built by the ancient Romans, but where are they now? Where are their peoples? Allah the Almighty says:  

﴾ Their deeds are like a mirage in a desert. ﴿

[ An-Noor, 39 ]


﴾  Are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]

Napoleon occupied all Europe, and he reached the center of Russia, but later on, he retreated, and he was exiled to an island in the Mediterranean. So, where have his achievements gone? Where are the construction works, artistic works, the plays, and the wonderful stories their authors left behind? All these things remain in the worldly life, but people will see the results of their actions and deeds in the Hereafter. Where is the person who used to own a fleet of ships and some islands on the coast of Africa, where is he now? He is dead! 

I repeat the Ayah: 

﴾ Their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


As for the industrial cities which provide people with their elegant goods, where are the owners of the manufacturing factories of these goods? What is the value of their goods in the Hereafter? Their industries remain in the worldly life, so they have no value in the Hereafter.  

The deed that has no benefit to the Ummah is valueless in the Hereafter:  


Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, tells us if we neglect the critical mission we are created to accomplish in the worldly life, then we will be in a great loss. Allah the Almighty says:  

﴾ Say (O Muhammad PBUH): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds? * "Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds! ﴿

[ Al-Kahf, 103-104 ]


The scientist Nobel invented gunpowder, but he realized later on that he had invented a harmful material to humanity. Notice how many people on the earth including innocent ones, children, and women are killed due to this invention by Nobel! Do we call this a great achievement? Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ Their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


Two weeks ago, I read an article by a writer who sent it to a magazine to be published, and it was the last article he wrote, because he died later on. It is a long article about people who walk on fire as a ritual. What is the value of doing so? What does it mean for someone to practise walking on fire? What did he contribute to humanity? 

I would like to say these delicate words: trivial deeds have no value in both Allah's Sight and people's, and the deeds that seem great according to the standard of the worldly life, are worthless on the Day of Resurrection if they are not beneficial and helpful to humanity.  

I repeat; the deed, that does not benefit people, guide them to the Right Path, help them meet their needs, make them happy, help in establishing justice among them, and help in spreading virtue among them, is valueless in the Hereafter as long as it is not beneficial to the Ummah. Allah the Almighty says:    

﴾ Their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


Trivial deeds are worthless on the Day of Resurrection, so are the great ones if they are not beneficial to the Ummah. 

The deeds of the Kafir are done for fame and money: 


If some deeds are beneficial to some people materialistically, they will turn into commercial commodities, and they will be done for getting abundant profit. Thus, he who does not know Allah the Almighty performs deeds that may seem humane, while in fact he seeks reputation and fame from them, and he just wants to be a super star in science, for example. 

Bear in mind that if deeds are not performed purely for the Sake of Allah the Almighty, and if they do not benefit the Ummah, they are like the ones described in this part of the Ayah: 

﴾ Are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


Every person should scan his deeds and make sure of the true intentions behind them. Does he intend to gain money from his deeds? Does he seek praising or fame? Does he seek glory? Does he seek Allah's Pleasure? Regarding this point, a scholar said, "O Allah, I seek closeness to You, given gaining Your Pleasure is my main concern." 

They are not after living in Eden gardens

Nor do they seek to have Houris and live in tents

 All they seek is taking a look at the beloved (Prophet Muhammad)

This is the basic goal of noble people


I have spent a considerable time explaining the above Ayah. 

There were great deeds that required tens of years to be performed, and they cost thousands of thousands, but at the end, they are: 
  

﴾ As ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


The one, who succeeds in the agricultural, industrial or commercial sectors, and he achieves huge profits and lives happily in amazing luxury, will be called into account on the Day of Resurrection and Allah would ask him, "What have you done for My Sake? What have you achieved for this eternal life (the Hereafter)? How have you served people by your achievements? What did you give them? He may say, "O Lord, I have done so and so." Well, he might have done something to gain money and collect a huge fortune at the expense of others, and he might have exhausted people financially due to his achievements. 

Every person will be called into account and will be asked, "What have you done for My Sake? Have you been merciful to people? Have you been just to them? Have you honored them? Have you felt sorry for their tragedies, or have you ignored them and remained preoccupied with your own affairs and interests?  

This is what will happen on the Day of Resurrection, so the effects of man's deeds are serious, and man should consider these effects in the worldly life whenever he does something instead of being taken by their glamour from outside. In fact, the most regretful man is the scholar whose followers will be admitted to Jannah, because they have been sincere in seeking Islamic knowledge, whereas he will be admitted to Hell-fire (because he lacks sincerity in his knowledge). His situation on the Day of Resurrection will be like the one mentioned in the following Hadith:  

﴾ Abu Wail narrated : Somebody said to Usamah, "Will you go to so-and-so (i.e. Uthman) and talk to him (i.e. advise him regarding ruling the country)?" He said, "You see that I do not talk to him. Really I talk to (advise) him secretly without opening a gate (of affliction), for neither do I want to be the first to open it (i.e. rebellion), nor will I say to a man who is my ruler that he is the best of all the people after I have heard something from Allah's Apostle ." They said, "What have you heard him saying?" He said, "I have heard him saying, "A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in the (Hell) Fire, so that his intestines will come out, and he will go around like a donkey goes around a millstone. The people of (Hell) Fire will gather around him and say: O so-and-so! What is wrong with you? Did you not use to order us to do good deeds and forbid us from doing bad deeds? He will reply: Yes, I used to order you to do good deeds, but I did not do them myself, and I used to forbid you from doing bad deeds, yet I used to do them myself." ﴿

[ Sahih Al-Bukhari, on the authority of Abi Wail ]


Man's deed is the most critical issue:  


Man's deed is the most serious issue. Every one of us performs deeds, and if they are evil, he will be called to account for them, and if they are good, they should have been performed sincerely for Allah's Sake, Exalted and Sublime be He. Listen to the following Hadith, please: 

﴾ It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever seeks knowledge in order to argue with the foolish, or to show off before the scholars, or to attract people's attention, Allah will admit him to Hell.'" ﴿

[ Sunan Ibn Majah, on the authority of Abi Hurairah ]


Here is another Hadith: 

(( On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: The first of people against whom judgment will be pronounced on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who died a martyr. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will recognize them. [The Almighty] will say: And what did you do about them? He will say: I fought for you until I died a martyr. He will say: You have lied; you fought so that it might be said: He is courageous. And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire. [Another] will be a man who has studied [religious] knowledge and has taught it and who used to recite the Quran. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will recognize them. [The Almighty] will say: And what did you do about them? He will say: I studied [religious] knowledge and I taught it and I recited the Quran for Your sake. He will say: You have lied – you studied religious knowledge so that it might be said: He is learned. And you recited the Quran so that it might be said: He is a reciter. And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire. [Another] will be a man whom Allah had made rich and to whom He had given all kinds of wealth. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will recognize them. [The Almighty] will say: And what did you do about them? He will say: I left no path [untrodden] in which You like money to be spent without spending in it for Your sake. He will say: You have lied - you did so that it might be said: He is open-handed. And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire.  ))

[ Muslim, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa'i, on the authority of Abi Hurairah ]


The Hadith is about the good deeds, and as I have just said, undoubtedly man will be called into account for his bad deeds, but as for the seemingly good deeds in people's sight, are they done with good intentions? What is the purpose behind performing them? Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, says: 

﴾ The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day, they shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. That is the straying, far away (from the Right Path). ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


This is what will happen to the seemingly good deeds, but what about the evil deeds? Listen to the following Hadith, please: 

﴾ Ibn Umar narrated: The Prophet (peace be upon him him) said, "A woman got into Hell-Fire because of a cat whom she had tied, and thus it could not eat, and she did not let it free so that it could devour the vermin of the earth, until it died." ﴿

[ Sahih Al-Bukhari, on the authority of Ibn Umar ]


Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it* And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.  ﴿

[  Az-Zalzalah, 7-8 ]


The value of man's deed is derived from two factors:   

Dear noble brothers, man's deed is his gate towards Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, and the grave is the container of his deed, and the value of his deed is derived from two factors: its benefit to the Ummah, and its sincere intentions (it should be sincerely performed for the Sake of Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He). 

In fact, there is deviation in man's good deeds when the intention is not sincere. For instance, someone may seek Islamic knowledge only to be called a scholar, another one may serve others only to be praised, and cheered. If these are the intentions of someone's deeds, then they are not sincere, and they are trivial, because in order for deeds to be considered great, they should meet two conditions: They should be beneficial to the Ummah and they should be performed to get their doer closer to Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He. A scholar made Du'a to Allah by saying, "O Allah, I seek getting closer to You, given gaining Your Pleasure is my main concern." 

Man's trivial deed ends with the end of the worldly life: 


Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ They shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


Man's deeds are trivial and valueless as long as they have no benefit to people, and so they end when man ceased to exist. Furthermore, since the intentions of these deeds were not sincere, and they have not been done for the Sake of Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, man will look for the results of these deeds on the Day of Resurrection and he will find nothing. If he finds them, he will not be able to get closer to Allah the Almighty through them, because their bad intentions made them lose their values, positive effects and fruitful results. Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ They shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 18 ]


The deeds, man performs in the worldly life, require a lot of efforts and money, but on the Day of Resurrection, he will not find them, and if he finds them, he will not be rewarded for them, because their bad intentions make them lose their value and so they are considered worthless just like the bad deeds.    

Everything Allah has created with Al-Haqq (the truth): 

Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He will, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation! ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 19 ]


The question "Do you not see" indicates that all people know the answer. For instance, when I ask someone, "Do you see the sun shining?" Can I ask him this question at night? Can I ask this question to a blind person? Definitely, I cannot. These questions are asked to someone who can see the sun shining during the day, and so in this case my question is rhetorical, because I know the answer beforehand. This is the point indicated in the following Ayah:  

﴾ Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? ﴿

[Ibrahim, 19]

According to the Ayah, the size of the earth has been created with Al-Haqq (the truth), and the gravity of things to it is determined by its specific size. Speaking of the moon, man's weight on it is one sixth lesser than his weight on the earth. In contrast, his weight will be about 5.000 kilograms on another planet. 

The size of the earth fits it, and the ratio of the land and water on earth fits it perfectly. Much in the same line, the composition of the air fits us, and the Ozone layer that prevents the fatal rays from penetrating the earth fits the earth. Regarding us, as human being, our senses have limits which fit us. 

The same point is indicated in a different Surah, when Allah the Almighty says:     

﴾ Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (in due measure and proportion and appointed Laws, so that all  hings become what they are meant to be, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfooz). ﴿

 

[ Al-Qamar, 49 ]


Everything has been created, designed and structured has been done due to profound wisdom and accurate measures, so they would not have been created, designed or structured in a better way. 

Our food, our drink, the plants around us, the family structure, the seed of the plants and whatever creation you can see, have been created in the best way, and this is the meaning of "with the truth (with Al-Haqq)". 

To clarify, when you focus the lens in order the see the image clearer, this will be the meaning of "with the truth." If you change the focus of the lens, the image will become blurry, but if you bring it closer or farther away and focuses it till the image becomes clearer, then this is what we call "with the truth". 

Everything is created by Allah with Al-Haqq including the smallest, the largest, the significant, and the seemingly insignificant creatures. So, "with the truth" means creating everything with its appropriate stature and characteristics. If you change the physical or chemical characteristics of a metal, like the iron, and you make it unable to be rusty, then it would not be created with Al-Haqq. The inability of the gold to be rusty is a manifestation of "with the truth", and the soft nature of the lead is another manifestation of "with the truth". Also, the fixed proportions of the components of the air is a manifestation of "with the truth", the eye's ability to see is a manifestation of "with truth",  and the eye's ability of the hawk to see 8 times more than the one of the human being is a manifestation of "with the truth". 

I repeat, everything Allah the Almighty has created, is created with Al-Haqq in the sense that it has been created with the most appropriate and the most accurate characteristics, as it is measured by The All-Almighty and The All-Knowing. 

As I have just said "with the truth" means everything would not have been created, designed or structured in a better way had it not been created as such. 

﴾ Do you not see… ﴿

If water shrank upon freezing, and thus its volume decreased like all other elements on earth, no man would exist on this planet. Let me clarify, had water frozen and its volume had decreased, and its density had increased, it would have been sunken into the depths of the seas, and as a result the seas would have been frozen from the surface to the bottom, and thus there would have been no evaporation and no rain. Consequently, plants, animals, and mankind would die. 

Water's volume decreases like any other substance when its temperature drops from 30 or 40 degrees centigrade to +4 degrees centigrade, then at this degree the whole process is remarkably reversed and water starts to expand lessening its density in the process and floating on the surface of water as a result.

In the northern frozen seas, only the surface is frozen, whereas the depth of the water is warm and fish roam in it from all sides. The freezing of the water is a manifestation of creating things with Al-Haqq. 

Allah the Almighty has created the eye with an anti-freeze substance. If you go to Finland, to Alaska, or to the North Pole, where the temperature is minus 70 degrees centigrade what will happen? The chilly weather will get to your body although you are wearing a thick coat, woolen gloves, a hood, and a mask for the nose, but what about the eyes? Can you cover them with something woolen? How will you be able to see the road you should take? The eyes must remain directly exposed to the air, and if they don't have this anti-freeze substance, the water in the eye will freeze and man will become blind if the temperature in his country, at his home, or in his environment drops below zero. This anti-freezing substance, Allah the Almighty has created in the eyes, reflects the creation of Allah the Almighty with Al-Haqq.

Human sight is limited. If you are able to see everything like a microscope, you will not be able to drink a cup of water, because you will be able to see the bacteria, worms, and bacilli the water contains, and so you will refuse to drink water. Hence, the limited sight we have has been created with Al-Haqq. 
As for the hearing, if the ear were able to hear beyond the limited capacity it has, you would not be able to sleep at night, because you would hear the sound of the air when it touches your body. If sound waves did not die down, life would be impossible on earth, because you would hear the sounds of the manufacturing engines in factories from all over the world. In addition, you would be able to hear the loud noise of all waves in various seas on earth. Due to Allah's Favor upon you, after thirty, forty, or fifty meters, sounds die down, and they cease to exist as they get further from you. So, the sound waves die down because hearing has been created with Al-Haqq. By Allah, the only Deity worthy of worship, if we write thousands of books about this single Ayah, they will not be enough to interpret its meaning. 
Whatever, your eyes see, has been created with Al-Haqq, and you can take the mosquito as an example. You will kill it when you see it on your hand, but do you know what it has? It has radar that helps it stand on the exact spot of your forehead even if it is very dark at night.  The mosquito has a blood analyzing system, because not every kind of blood suits it. It tests the blood first, and then it sucks it. This explains why one of a two brothers, who sleep in the same room, is bitten many times, while the other is not. 
Furthermore, it has an anesthesia system in order not to be killed while it is sucking the blood. It sucks the blood of man and flies away before the effect of the anesthetic ends. Moreover, Allah the Almighty has provided the mosquito with a blood thinner, because the thickness of the human blood prevents it from flowing in its trunk. Indeed how amazing the systems, the mosquito has, are! They are: the thermal and cold foggers, an anesthesia system, a blood test system, and a blood thinner.  
The mosquito's wings flutter 4.000 times per second, and this explains the noise you hear when it flies close to your ear. It has 3 hearts; a central heart and a heart for each wing. Furthermore, it has suction cups in its legs that help it stand on glass or smooth surface, and it has claws in its legs that help it stand on a rough surface. This tiny creature is mentioned in the Noble Quran:  

﴾ Verily, Allah is not ashamed to set forth a parable even of a mosquito or so much more when it is bigger (or less when it is smaller) than it. And as for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord, but as for those who disbelieve, they say: "What did Allah intend by this parable?" By it He misleads many, and many He guides thereby. And He misleads thereby only those who are Al-Fasiqoon (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah). ﴿

[ Al-Baqarah, 26 ]


Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, refers to His creation in the Noble Quran. He says:  

﴾ This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimoon (polytheists, wrongdoers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. ﴿

[ Luqman, 11 ]


He the Almighty also says: 

﴾ Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" ﴿

[ Al-Mulk, 3 ]


Dear believing brothers, if man spends years talking about the interpretations and manifestations of the phrase "with truth", these years will never be enough to refer to all its manifestations. 

If this nail had sensory nerves, man would have to go to the hospital to get anesthesia in order to be able to trim his nails. This would be the only solution to have his nails trimmed. The same situation would be applied to man if the hair had sensory nerve. In other words, man would undergo anesthesia in order to have his hair cut if the hair had sensory nerves, but Allah the Almighty has created it with Al-Haqq (He has created the nails and the hair without sensory nerves). 

If the hair of the nose were inside the mouth, then this would not be a creation with Al-Haqq. Also, if the eye were on the forehead, only one person among 1000 people would not be blind, but the eyes have been created in a strong fortress place in the face (i.e. eyes sockets). 

Regarding the brain, which is the most vital organ, it is in the skull, and between it and the bones that surround it, there is a liquid to absorb shocks. In addition, the skull has sutures that look like a broken line, and the function of them is to absorb the shock if the child falls down to the ground. These sutures have been created with Al-Haqq. 

Ponder over other human organs, like the heart; it is inside the rib cage. As for the spinal cord, it is in inside the spine, and the uterus is inside the pelvis. Besides, the most critical generator in the human body is the red blood cell generator which is located inside the bone marrow. These things indicate the creation of Allah with Al-Haqq. You are aware now how many years man may spend to convey the meaning of this Ayah. Yet, he will not be able to do so.     

Pondering over Allah's Creation to get to know Him properly: 


Ponder over this universe and be aware that knowledge starts with learning one letter. How do we pick this watermelon that we eat? Should we assign the owner of the field to hold this watermelon, pinch it, or cut it into two halves to find out whether it is ripe or not? Well, watermelon has a curly tendril where the fruit was connected to the vine during the growing process. If the watermelon is ripe, the curly tendril should be almost completely dried out and it is broken easily. This is how such a fruit has been created with Al-Haqq. Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ And landmarks (signposts, etc. during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves. ﴿

[ An-Nahl, 16 ]


If the different kinds of fruits such as cherries, apricots, apples, pears, peaches, and raspberries ripened in one day in summer, what do we do? How would we pick them? How would we get them ready to be sold in the markets? How would we sell them?  How would we consume them all? Such a thing can never happen. Every two or three weeks a kind of summer fruits ripens. I mean, first the apricots, then the peaches, after that the cherries, then the pears, and after that the apples. These fruits take about four months (the months of summer) to be ripen, and next comes the grapes and after that comes the olives. Hence, these crops and fruits ripen during a long periods of time, which manifest the creation of Allah with Al-Haqq. 

If these kinds of fruits ripened in one day, would you be able to eat a hundred kilos of apricots a day? Of course you would not. We keep eating these kinds of fruits throughout almost a month. In other words, every day we eat two kilograms, which is reasonable. The main point is that these fruits ripen sequentially.

A person said to me, "I rented a watermelon farm, and by Allah, I picked these fruits in 90 times. Each day I used to pick what filled a truck." Who has created the fruits to be ripened sequentially? This is how it has been created with Al-Haqq. 

If the wheat were to ripen gradually, its creation would be with Al-Batil (falsehood). You would hold each ear and see if it was ripe or not, then it would become an impossible work to do. The crops ripen altogether, and you harvest them in one day. This is how they have been created with Al-Haqq. Hay is considered the basic fodder for the cattle, even if you buy other kinds of fodder for the cattle, hay is still the best food for them. 

Ask yourself this question: Who has made the fruits of this plant to be food for humans and its stalk to be fodder for the cattle? This is how it has been created with Al-Haqq. 

Reflect on the tall poplar trees that we use as windbreaks for farms. Its root is fibrous, and this tree has a very small amount of roots, because it is planted in order to be uprooted, later on, in order to use its wood. Unlike it, the olive trees are long-lived fruit trees, and their roots remain deep in the earth. They have been created with Al-Haqq. 

Dear noble brothers, think of all these creations, and keep in mind that Allah the Almighty has granted us reason in order to ponder over His creations in the universe, so that we would be able to get to know Him properly not only to eat the fruits He has created for us like animals.  

﴾ Certainly! Allah will admit those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), while those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as cattle eat, and the Fire will be their abode. ﴿

[ Muhammad, 12 ]


The following Ayah proves Allah's Ability to resurrect man:  

Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ Do you not see… ﴿


O man have you not seen yet the following? 

﴾ Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He will, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation!* And for Allah that is not hard or difficult (i.e. very easy for Allah).  ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 19-20]  


Some scholars said, "This Ayah proves Allah's Ability to resurrect man after death", but other scholars said, "In this Ayah, Allah the Almighty threatens the misguided and deviated man, so that he would return to the Path of Guidance". 

The following Ayah depicts a scene from the Day of Resurrection:


Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah's Torment?" They will say: "Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us." ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 21 ]


In fact, this Ayah depicts a horrible scene from the Day of Resurrection, and out of Allah's Mercy upon us, He the Almighty mentions it before it really happens, so that we would get back to the Right Path. On the Day of Resurrection, man will see the results of the deeds he has done in the worldly life; they will be viewed before him like a movie in which he watches the bad consequences of his deeds.   

When I used to be a teacher, some teachers let students at high schools watch a scientific movie about the bad effects of smoking. The students watched a smoker having his lungs opened, and a cancerous tumor appeared in his lungs due to smoking. So, whoever used to smoke among those students would see the terrible effects. 

Like the smokers who see the effects of their bad habit (smoking), there are bad situations people fall into nowadays. Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, mentions some of the scenes that will take place on the Day of Resurrection before they really happen, so that people will learn the moral lesson in advance and will take precautions.

﴾ And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection)… ﴿

All people, including the little, the young, the old, the big, the powerful, the weak, the healthy, the sick, the prominent, and the obscure, will appear before Allah the Almighty on the Day of Resurrection. 

﴾ And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): "Verily, we were following you… ﴿

The weak will say on the Day of Resurrection, "We just followed your steps in beliefs, doctrine, thoughts, values, life-styles, customs, traditions, celebrations", and so on. 

﴾ "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah's Torment?" ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 21 ]


They will see how Hell-fire will be their abode. They will look for the ones they have followed in the worldly life and will ask them, "Where are you? We have followed your steps in everything, so come and get us out from the trouble we are in now."  

﴾ And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah's Torment?" They will say: "Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you…  ﴿

Their answer will be, "We are misguided just like you, and had we been guided, we would have guided you."  

﴾ "Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us." ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 21 ]


In fact, this Ayah is very crucial. Let me ask you this question: Who has made those weak people weak? If Allah had made them weak, and He had made others powerful and allowed the powerful to enslave the weak so that the latter would follow them and would do all their wishes, then why the weak should be held accountable for their deeds? How will Allah the Almighty hold them accountable in such a case? I will not answer this question today, so I will leave it for next lesson insha' Allah.

I repeat the Ayah in which Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs)… ﴿

Now the question is: who is the weak person? He is the one who has no power and no position. Well, as long as you know the definition of the weak person, you will know what is meant by this Ayah. Do you think that Allah the Almighty causes someone to be weak? Do you think that He the Almighty causes a person to be powerful? What kind of weakness someone may have? What are the causes of weakness? Is weakness congenital or innate? Allah the Almighty says: 

﴾ And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs)… ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 21 ]


They were self-conceited 

﴾ "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah's Torment?" They will say: "Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us." ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 21 ]


Shaitan will come to those whom he had misguided and to whom he had whispered in the worldly life and will give them a moral lesson about monotheism. Allah the Almighty says:  

﴾ And Shaitan (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: "Verily, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)." ﴿

[ Ibrahim, 22 ]
